Emily Turns One!

And just like that Emily is one! I honestly can’t believe this day has finally come. The year literally just flew by. One crazy year of watching my beautiful baby girl turn into a crazy little character. If you want to see how we celebrated her first birthday, please continue reading.

I played around with the idea of having Emily’s party at a soft play venue, but with her being so young and all of her baby friends being even younger than her, it didn’t make sense. So, we opted to have a small party at our house with just close friends and family, which I’m so happy that we ended up doing because it was such a lovely day. It really couldn’t have gone any better. She seemed to thoroughly enjoy herself and she spent the whole day in the best mood.

Emily hadn’t really shown any interest in any TV shows yet, so I ended up doing a pink and gold glitter theme for her birthday. All of her decorations and her outfit was purchased on Amazon. I would highly recommend buying decorations on there if you need to buy them all together because it works out so much cheaper. Her cake was made by a lovely woman called Lisa who I found on facebook (Personalized Cakes N Cupcakes) Emily is lactose intolerant so she needed a dairy free cake. We opted for a chocolate cake with buttercream and it literally tasted just as good as a dairy chocolate cake. My mam works in a restaurant, so she brought out sandwiches and finger food with her. And for sweets, we just picked up some jellies and sweeties from the shop since it was more of an adult party, no children would be enjoying them.

All and all it was a fantastic day spent with family and friends and she was of course completely spoiled rotten. She loved being the center of attention for the whole day. I was nervous of her being shy with so many people being around her at the same time, but she lapped up all the attention. She even performed a dance for all her guests. (Anyone who knows her knows she loves Taylor Swift) She really is the best little girl and she deserved the best day. She’s only been in our lives a year, but she’s truly made our lives 100 times better. I honestly don’t know what I was doing before I had her. She makes every day special.

Happy first birthday my beautiful baby girl.

Love you always.
