This week is a very important week as it’s Maternal Mental Health Awareness week. I wasn’t aware this existed until I came across people posting about it on Instagram. I then researched it further and discovered countless stories about women’s honest experiences with motherhood. It’s inspired me to write my own post on the subject because it’s such an important topic and it definitely should continue to be discussed after this week is over.
When I conceived baby number two, it never occurred to me how hard the first trimester was going to be with a 6 month old baby to look after. Having had it quite tough with my first pregnancy, I was expecting it again with my second, but I didn’t realise just how different it was going to be with a little one as well to care for. To say those first couple of weeks were hard would be an understatement, but I did find ways to make it slightly easier and that’s what I’m here to share with anyone who could be in a similar situation or will be in the future.

As a first time mother to be, it can be incredibly daunting when left with the task to buy stuff for your new arrival. Especially, when there’s so much stuff out there for babies these days. It honestly made my head spin and I really didn’t know what to spend my money on. I scoured the internet for ages, asking on popular baby forums what was everyone’s must haves. I got great suggestions from these groups and narrowed it down to what I thought I might need for my baby. So, on that note, here’s my top 6 newborn must haves.
