Two weeks ago, I was thrown the most beautiful baby shower by my best friends. It was everything I could have asked for and more. They both truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The detail alone blew me away and it’s something I can’t wait to share with you all on here.
And just like that Emily is one! I honestly can’t believe this day has finally come. The year literally just flew by. One crazy year of watching my beautiful baby girl turn into a crazy little character. If you want to see how we celebrated her first birthday, please continue reading.
When I conceived baby number two, it never occurred to me how hard the first trimester was going to be with a 6 month old baby to look after. Having had it quite tough with my first pregnancy, I was expecting it again with my second, but I didn’t realise just how different it was going to be with a little one as well to care for. To say those first couple of weeks were hard would be an understatement, but I did find ways to make it slightly easier and that’s what I’m here to share with anyone who could be in a similar situation or will be in the future.
This is slightly late as my little babe is now 9 and a half months old, but I didn’t want to not post it because it was such an exciting month for us. I still am finding it quite hard to gather my head around the fact you’ve been on this earth 9 whole months. It feels like only yesterday that you were a tiny newborn and now you’re this big, bold baby. So much has changed in the last couple of months and you’re starting to learn things so quickly. It’s all very exciting and also somewhat sad because you’re becoming so independent and don’t need your mommy as much. Now before I start getting too emotional, let’s get into your 8 month update because it’s definitely been the most exciting month yet.
I’m pregnant! Now that you know that I’m expecting, you can’t be mad at me for disappearing for 4 months. In all seriousness though, I apologise for the lack of posts on this blog. When you’re pregnant and have a baby already, boy is it hard. It’s especially hard when you’re in the horrors of morning sickness for several weeks. Now that things have died down, I hope to update regularly on here about my pregnancy with baby #2. And of course updates on my beautiful first born, Emily. So, if pregnancy and babies is your thing, keep reading.
How are you four months old already, Emily Grace?! So much has changed. I’ve watched you grow from a sleepy newborn to a very active little girl. My heart swells with pride each day when you do something new. Just when I thought I couldn’t love you anymore, I do. Simple as that. Your third month of life was probably one of the most exciting and it’s one that I can’t wait to discuss here.
It’s been three months since my beautiful daughter Emily made her way into this world and I honestly feel like I could write a book on my experience so far. It’s probably been the craziest three months of my life and I wouldn’t change it for anything. There’s definitely been many highs but there’s also been some lows. I’ve expected some things and there’s other things I haven’t expected at all. All and all, it’s been a wild ride. So, here’s what I’ve learned since having a baby.
As a first time mother to be, it can be incredibly daunting when left with the task to buy stuff for your new arrival. Especially, when there’s so much stuff out there for babies these days. It honestly made my head spin and I really didn’t know what to spend my money on. I scoured the internet for ages, asking on popular baby forums what was everyone’s must haves. I got great suggestions from these groups and narrowed it down to what I thought I might need for my baby. So, on that note, here’s my top 6 newborn must haves.
Before I found out I was pregnant, I really had no idea what I was about to get myself into. I had no idea what to expect or what was going to happen to my body, but now after going through it for nine and a half months, these are the things I wish I knew when I was pregnant. I doubt it would have helped me in any significant way, but at least I would have had some idea. If I’ve learned anything, it’s to expect the unexpected as pregnancy is one wild ride.
