Two weeks ago, I was thrown the most beautiful baby shower by my best friends. It was everything I could have asked for and more. They both truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The detail alone blew me away and it’s something I can’t wait to share with you all on here.
This week is a very important week as it’s Maternal Mental Health Awareness week. I wasn’t aware this existed until I came across people posting about it on Instagram. I then researched it further and discovered countless stories about women’s honest experiences with motherhood. It’s inspired me to write my own post on the subject because it’s such an important topic and it definitely should continue to be discussed after this week is over.
And just like that Emily is one! I honestly can’t believe this day has finally come. The year literally just flew by. One crazy year of watching my beautiful baby girl turn into a crazy little character. If you want to see how we celebrated her first birthday, please continue reading.
My beautiful girl is 11 months old. I always used to laugh when people told me it would just fly by, I didn’t believe them at the time. Now, I’m going to have a one year old in two weeks! And I can honestly say that those people were right. It really does just pass you by. Each month she changes and this month was definitely no different.
We have finally hit double digits. 10 months old. Wow. I know I say it each month, but I just can’t believe how fast time is truly going. It only feels like yesterday that I was scared to hold this little newborn and now I’m running after a boisterous baby. In exactly 8 weeks, I’m going to have a one year old. That’s definitely something I’m not ready to accept yet. Before I start weeping over that, let’s get into her 10 month update.
I still can’t believe I’m actually saying this, but yesterday we found out that we are expecting a little boy. I honestly thought we were having another girl because both pregnancies have been so similar. It’s definitely a boy though after many checks to make sure. If you want to know how I feel about having a baby boy, keep reading.
When I conceived baby number two, it never occurred to me how hard the first trimester was going to be with a 6 month old baby to look after. Having had it quite tough with my first pregnancy, I was expecting it again with my second, but I didn’t realise just how different it was going to be with a little one as well to care for. To say those first couple of weeks were hard would be an understatement, but I did find ways to make it slightly easier and that’s what I’m here to share with anyone who could be in a similar situation or will be in the future.
This is slightly late as my little babe is now 9 and a half months old, but I didn’t want to not post it because it was such an exciting month for us. I still am finding it quite hard to gather my head around the fact you’ve been on this earth 9 whole months. It feels like only yesterday that you were a tiny newborn and now you’re this big, bold baby. So much has changed in the last couple of months and you’re starting to learn things so quickly. It’s all very exciting and also somewhat sad because you’re becoming so independent and don’t need your mommy as much. Now before I start getting too emotional, let’s get into your 8 month update because it’s definitely been the most exciting month yet.
I’m pregnant! Now that you know that I’m expecting, you can’t be mad at me for disappearing for 4 months. In all seriousness though, I apologise for the lack of posts on this blog. When you’re pregnant and have a baby already, boy is it hard. It’s especially hard when you’re in the horrors of morning sickness for several weeks. Now that things have died down, I hope to update regularly on here about my pregnancy with baby #2. And of course updates on my beautiful first born, Emily. So, if pregnancy and babies is your thing, keep reading.
How are you four months old already, Emily Grace?! So much has changed. I’ve watched you grow from a sleepy newborn to a very active little girl. My heart swells with pride each day when you do something new. Just when I thought I couldn’t love you anymore, I do. Simple as that. Your third month of life was probably one of the most exciting and it’s one that I can’t wait to discuss here.
